Easter 2010

Since both sets of Grandparents had left the country and Betsy hadn't had her baby we decided to have Easter in Raymond. The McCue's, Jones kids, Richard and David spent the weekend with us. It just seemed like tradition to have it in Southern Alberta. We had a big Easter dinner in Magrath, (Aunt Joy had broken ribs but she insisted we have it there). Where else could we roll eggs. The kids died over 100 eggs, it was a great activity that took lots of time. This year we were into elastic bands around the eggs, the kids loved them. It took about 10 minutes to throw them down the hill. Here they are.
Ryan and I made marshmallow chocolate dipped eggs, they were not quite as good as my Moms, but we are learning. We did have to throw one batch away. We let the kids decorate them with colored chocolate. That was a big mess.

We loved having the Jones boys with us. They were great. Their Mother may have not fully trusted us, but we think they had fun. we were glad to get a phone call every hour to see how things were. Oscar attached himself to Uncle David and called him Dad. We made sure they ate lots of chocolate and we made sure Oscar went home with a rats nest. We made sure to put them in the Easter pajamas, most people have Christmas pj's but the Jones' have Easter pajamas.

Quad rides at Aunt Joy and Uncle Kim's. Doesn't he look good with girls.

Rescuing the unbroken eggs and bringing them back up to through again. It must be a Southern Alberta tradition. We always seem to choose the steepest hill.

After a big candy hunt on Friday didn't stop the Easter Bunny from bringing more.

On Saturday we drove to Writing on Stone, the Hickens were there also. It was fun, even though the winds were howling. It didn't stop the kids from having fun, or stop Ryan and Jenny-Lynn from taking them all the way to see the writing on stone. It is a great place to go. We should go there in the summer.
